Despite combat steps, deaths continue
There seems to be no let-up in deaths related to dengue as five people from Madurai, Dindigul and Virudhunagar districts have died due to suspected dengue, on Tuesday.

Madurai
Dinesh Kumar (21), an engineering college student, from Saminathapuram near Pazhani in Dindigul district, had gone to his house for Deepavali holidays and was suffering from fever since then. Following that, he was treated at a private hospital in Coimbatore but died on Tuesday.
Similarly, three people from Madurai district died due to suspected dengue. Devi (38), from Pechiammanpadithurai in Madurai, was admitted for high fever in Madurai GRH three days before. But she died on Tuesday. Similarly, Krishnaraj (10), Bastin nagar in Madurai, who had been suffering from intense fever had been admitted at Madurai GRH on Saturday but died on Tuesday due to decrease in platelets count.
Also Thiruvali, from Mankattitheppakulam village near Melur, had been suffering from high fever and was suspected to be suffering from dengue. He was rushed to a private hospital in Madurai where he died on Tuesday. Latha, from TKSPS nagar in Virudhunagar, died due to suspected dengue at Virudhunagar GH, on Tuesday.
Girl dies in Tiruchy
A Class 8 girl died due to dengue despite treatment in Tiruchy on Tuesday. It is said, S Kethiya (14) daughter of Selvakumar, a pastor at Puthur CSI church in Tiruchy had fever for the past few days and was admitted in a private hospital.
Since her fever did not come down, the private hospital authorities advised the parents to take her to GH. Subsequently, Kethiya was rushed to the GH on Monday and her condition became serious. In the wee hours on Tuesday, Kethiya succumbed to the fever without responding to treatment.
