Police said Senthil Kumar, a resident of Sathya Sai Nagar in Krishnagiri and running a finance firm at Co-Operative Colony, went missing on October 28. His wife Sarala lodged a complaint at the Krishnagiri town police station.
The abductors demanded a sum of Rs one crore as ransom. However, when the family declined saying the amount was high, the abductors demanded Rs 30 lakh. But, when the kidnappers realised that the police were tracking them, they stabbed Senthil Kumar and fled the scene. Later, Senthil Kumar was rescued by the public and admitted to a private hospital in Dharmapuri.
Based on the information given by him the special police team nabbed nine persons identified as ‘bonda’ Vadivelu, Sathish, Karthik, Sabarinathan, Rajendran, Nishanth, Nazeer, Periasamy, and ‘tiles’ Vadivelu, all hailing from from Anna Nagar, Papparapatty and Poonthottam areas in Krishnagiri district.
They were booked under different sections. The kidnappers were produced in court and later lodged in Salem Central Prison.
