The petition follows a consultation the Nilofer had with the representatives of Urdu speaking institutions, and other welfare organisations. The Minister observed that Urdu speaking students were able to give their examinations in school at all levels in that language when the late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa was in power.

“We have sought the state to pave way for such an opportunity in the coming years as well,” she said.
