Income Tax men seek help of Revenue Intel to check laptops
A day after the raid on Poes Garden residence of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, the Income-Tax Department is said to have sought the help of Revenue Intelligence (RI) officials to figure out the details in the laptops and pen drives seized by the raid parties.

Sources said that the Revenue Intelligence personnel have been roped in because the tax men want a detailed report on the contents of any data in the seized gadgets that may give them information on unaccounted income or business dealings.
The raids on the Poes Garden residence on Friday, was allegedly carried out based on information revealed by Poongundran, the personal secretary of Jayalalithaa, during inquiry by income-tax officials on Monday. The house of Jayalalithaa was searched as part of the operation against Sasikala, her family members and associates.
