The Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry prohibiting 742 lawyers, who had pursued legal education based on degrees obtained through the open university system, from practicing law is poised to be heard by a full bench of the Madras High Court.

The first bench comprising Chief Justice Indira Banerjee and Justice M Sundar while hearing a plea in this regard stayed the prohibitory order and held that the petition ought to be heard by a full bench.
