Technical glitch shuts KKNPP Unit 1

Sources at KKNPP said that a 400 kilo volt power cable which carried high voltage electricity snapped and the unit tripped. The technical glitch would be set right by Tuesday, they said. Power production will also resume and production capacity will be gradually increased to 1000 MW. However, there is no problem in unit-II and power production is stable, said sources. KKNPP has two units each with 1000 MW power production capacity and recently both the units reached their maximum power production capacity and produced 2000 MW of power.
