According to the weathermen at RMC, the trend will continue for the next two or three days. “In fact, the early morning of Wednesday saw most parts of north Tamil Nadu record lower than normal minimum temperature, while early morning of Thursday night could see the coldest day of the season across almost all of Peninsular India, with many parts of the region expected to see night time minimum temperatures dip by three to four degrees below normal,” said a weather expert.
K Srikanth, the city-based weather blogger, said, “As we get to the last few days of 2017 and look forward to a new year, things are also changing on the weather-front as well with winter conditions slowly establishing itself over the Indian sub-Continent. Further, temperatures have started to drop across the region, while slowly the prospects of rains seem to fade away further into the distance.”
He added that “Chennnai observatories had already recorded considerable drop in temperatures early morning of Tuesday and Wednesday as compared to the last few days with the Airport observatory recording two degrees lower than the last one week.”
