TNCC chief plans big for 133rd party anniversary
State Congress president Su Thirunavukkarasar is planning to show off his organisational skills at Sathyamurthy Bhavan on Thursday’s 133rd party anniversary celebration to deflect pressure mounted on him by his detractors within the party.

Thirunavukkarasar has appealed to party functionaries and cadre across the state to ensure that this year’s celebration, first since Rahul Gandhi took over. It has been reliably learnt that he has secretly asked his supporters to overwhelm his predecessor EVKS Elangovan’s camp on Thursday. Thirunavukkarasar, whose tenure remains undisturbed by AICC despite threats from contenders in the state congress, has issued diktat to his supporters, understandably, to demonstrate his wherewithal in the state. On Wednesday, TNCC chief, who briefly recalled the illustrious history of Congress, announced that he would hoist the party flag at state Congress headquarters at 10 am on Thursday and address the cadre, without mentioning the list of participating leaders.
