Solatium to kin of deceased police personnel

Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami has announced a solatium of Rs 3 lakh each to the family of policemen, who died in various incidents across the state, among others.

A press release issued by the government said that K Vivekananthan, who was working as a Special Sub-Inspector (SSI) in Anna Nagar in Madurai died on August 8 due to illness. 

Similarly, T Srimathi, who worked as Grade I police (Intelligence) in Chennai, died on August 12 due to ailments. T Venkatesan of Pananthoppu village in Krishnagiri district was electrocuted on April 14, while A Lalitha of Villuppuram district on August 12 was also electrocuted. 

The Chief Minister expressed grief over the death of the policemen and others and announced Rs 30 lakh from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. “I have ordered to provide Rs 3 lakh to the kin of the deceased,” Edappadi said in the statement.
