Speaking to the press, he said that he was not aware of the contents of the pen drive and has merely submitted it on behalf of his client. He added that whatever evidence was present with disqualified MLA Vetrivel has already been handed to the commission.

Sasikala had been earlier summoned to appear before the commission in 15 days. But after the victory in the RK Nagar elections, TTV Dinakaran had met her and then told the press that Sasikala has taken a vow of silence (mouna viradam) since the death anniversary of Jayalalithaa.

However, it was believed that Sasikala is still preparing her submission and the documents related to it and she may submit them through her advocate since her niece Krishnapriya had already appeared before the Arumughaswamy commission.

Though, a copy of summon had been sent to her, she had already stated that she would reply once she received the original copy. Her nephew and RK Nagar MLA TTV Dinakaran had already said the commission had only asked her to give her submission and file the medical documents of Jayalalithaa.

Sasikala’s advocate Raja Senthoor Pandian is likely to present the documents and explain the circumstances, besides the treatment given to the former Chief Minister.

The Commission had issued summons to her on December 22 asking her to submit the records in 15 days. Though, ministers and AIADMK functionaries had initially described the video clips as fake did not dispute its authenticity after the bypoll results. They had also not raised questions over the location of the treatment and time when the video was shot. However, Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam had asserted that none of the ministers were allowed to see Jayalalithaa during treatment.

During the day, Sasikala’s niece Krishnapriya also deposed before the Justice A Arumughswamy commission at Kalas Mahal.
