The minister did not attend the party MLAs meeting in Chennai on Wednesday as he was participating in the 288th birth anniversary of Queen Velu Nachiar at Sivaganga. Kadambur Raju along with Minister for Khadi and Village Industries Board, G Baskaran, garlanded the statue of Velu Nachiar at her memorial in Sivaganga.
Later, Kadambur Raju said that the Ministry of Information and Publicity had allotted Rs 102 crore to construct memorial for freedom fighters in every district as they would help the younger generation to know the history behind independence struggle.
When asked about actor Rajinikanth’s political entry, he replied that a separate team had been formed to comment on political developments and it would not be appropriate for him to express his views on the issue.
However, on Tuesday night, after a review meeting at Kovilpatti, the minister said that there were no sleeper cells in the AIADMK and none of the MLAs had met TTV Dinakaran. He also said that earlier DMK working president MK Stalin used to say that the AIADMK government would soon be dissolved and now Dinakaran was making the same statement. However, the present government led by Edappadi K Palaniswami and O Panneerselvam would complete its full term, the minister remarked.
