The BJP leader, who was here on Tuesday, was responding to a query about the columnist S Gurumurthy, who opined that the state would witness a change when the government run by the BJP along with actor Rajinikanth comes to power.

“First let him (Rajinikanth) start his fulltime political career and only then, the party will decide on it,” she said.

Stating that the BJP has been growing strong in the state, Tamilisai stressed that it was evident that the party had faced two general elections here without the support of both the Dravidian parties.

“We are poised to prove our strength in the local body polls with a massive win,” she noted.

She warned those politicians, who have been ridiculing Hindu sentiments and gods just to satisfy the minorities. She said the recent controversial comment on Goddess Andal had triggered protests across the state. “We will not go soft against those who insult Hindus,” she said.

She also noted that while the Centre had released the crop insurance fund, the state government has not been keen on disbursing the dues to the farmers.
