Kamal to announce party name, its policies on February 21
Actor Kamal Haasan has announced that he would launch his political party on February 21 and unveil his policies from his native district of Ramanathapuram, in a move that would put him ahead of his colleague Rajinikanth who is yet to declare the date for his political plunge.

In a statement here, Kamal said he would embark on a journey across the state from that day “to truly understand as to what the needs of the people. What is afflicting them and what their aspirations are”. He announced that he would meet the people from the districts of Madurai, Dindigul and Sivagangai.
Kamal said, “I believe it will be truly appropriate if my political journey commences from the place of my birth and home town”.
“I have immense gratitude to the people of Tamil Nadu who have given me everything. However, gratitude by itself is not adequate and the love and affection I have for them needs to be manifested in action and deed”, he said.
His purpose in life is to challenge the status quo that had been plaguing the state politics for some time. “For this to happen, my thoughts and actions needs to collectively resonate with the people. Let us question mediocrity and raise the bar on governance and welfare of people”, he added.
