TACTV had earlier invited expression of interest (EOI) to provide e-sevas like application for community certificates and printing Aadhaar online among others at private browsing centres which would double up as CSCs in franchisee model in urban areas (corporations, municipalities and town panchayats).
The original EOI had also proposed 80 plus digital sevas. Notably, the proposed digital seva services number 89, including Aadhaar Seeding with bank account, train and flight ticket booking, life insurance, application for FSSAI license, PAN card services and Rashtrapathi Bhavan museum ticket booking have been given a miss in the revised EOI.
However, services like printing copies of birth and death certificates, applying for community and income certificates, booking appointment for driving licence, registration for new Low-Tension connection and payment of EB bill and even checking status of FIR could be availed at the proposed e-sevai centres or the empanelled private browsing centres.
On eligibility criteria, the government has also withdrawn the criterion insisting that the applicant should have been running the browsing centre for one year. TACTV has also downsized the infrastructure requirement from 5GB to 4GB RAM (random access memory) for the computers to be used at the browsing centres.
In the same breath, TACTV has stipulated that the centre has internet connectivity of 2mpbs upload and download speed and minimum 2mbps bandwidth. The state-run MSO has suggested that required additional IT infrastructure should be upgraded/arranged as and when additional services are added to the existing services through TACTV.
