The student from Kumbakonam, who has been studying in a private school, habitually skipped classes and roamed around with friends. Since he was absent for four days, the headmaster informed the boy’s parents. His parents, who visited the school, were shocked to find out his absenteeism and poor performance in tests.
Subsequently, they scolded him and advised him to be regular to school. On Friday, the boy who came to the class fell unconscious and the class teacher could sense that he had consumed poison. Subsequently, the teacher along with the headmaster took him to a private hospital and informed his parents about the incident.
Fortunately, the boy was out of danger as the teachers took him to the hospital on time. Later, the boy’s parents told the teachers that they had scolded him for his behaviour the previous day and that it had prompted him to attempt suicide. The boy has been undergoing treatment in the hospital and is said to be out of danger.
