Hence, in a bid to give the nervous students a much-needed boost, they organised a mega community feast on Monday for those appearing for the exams.
The Government Higher Secondary School, Onthanpatti near Vaiyyampatti in Tiruchy has a student strength of around 600. Of that number 210 are pursuing SSLC, Plus One and Plus Two. The school teachers devised a novel plan for motivating the students to score high marks in the board exams. They decided to hold a massive community feast with the required funds being raised by them along with the villagers.
As per the arrangement, on Monday, the students who were on study holidays were invited along with the other students of the school and 250 special invitees from a nearby orphanage for a lunch. Subsequently, all the students who are appearing for the Board exam were distributed with writing material by the Parents Teachers Association office bearers and the head master. The villagers and the school teachers wished all the students great success.
While giving a motivational talk, the head master M Durairaj announced gold and silver coins for the top scorers, the expense of which will again be shared by the villagers and school teachers. “We heard that a few private schools offer prizes like car, gold and even bikes for the top scorers and so we planned to do something for our students so that it would motivate them to score high marks”, said the head master Durairaj.
