On Wednesday, Stalin wrapped up the review meeting with Vellore and Villupuram districts. “Review of the remaining districts has been deferred due to the budget session. The date would be announced later,” DMK organizing secretary and Rajya Sabha MP RS Bharati told DT Next.
The meeting of the DMK legislature party would be held on Thursday evening after Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam presents his first budget since the AIADMK’s reunion.
High on the agenda of the DMK legislature party meeting would be the Cauvery Management Board and women’s safety. The party is understood to have planned a full-fledged attack on the treasury benches on the CMB row, techie Lavanya Jangath’s assault and college student Aswini murder case.
Pertinently, DMK party organ Murasoli has carried an elaborate article on the state’s financial position, which is steeped in debt. The 89-MLA strong DMK is sure to make noise in the House on the CMB row, more so after the Centre cold-shouldered Tamil Nadu on constituting the CMB.
