The mandram has been holding consultations in various districts across Tamil Nadu for the election of office bearers regularly in his absence as well. The comings days will see meetings in the districts of Chennai, Coimbatore, Erode and Tirupur. The office bearers have been chosen after discussions with the fans. The meetings are headed by chief coordinator VM Sudhakar and state secretary Raju Mahalingam.
Rajinikanth had signalled his intention to join politics on December 31, 2017. He’s currently on a 15-day spiritual trip to the Himalayas. He has been rumoured to announce his party flag and symbol on his return, on Tamil New Year’s day in April. The Rajini Makkal Mandram could be converted into an official party then.
Sources also claimed that Rajinikanth’s daughter Soundarya could be involved prominently in his political journey.
The graphic designer and filmmaker became the first woman to direct her father, when the motion-capture animated film Kochadaiiyaan released in 2014. Though it was a flop, Soundarya received plaudits for her work. The 33-year-old Soundarya is also the founder and owner of Ocher Picture Productions and is expected to be one of the key members charting her father’s soon-to-be-announced campaign trail.
Tamil Nadu Producers’ Council President Vishal is awaiting Rajinikanth’s return to hear his views on the ongoing film industry strike.
