In Krishnagiri district, nearly 100 villagers from Hosur took a rally towards the interstate Tamil Nadu and Karnataka border. Anticipating tension, police foiled their attempts to reach the border.
“We will continue our protests until the CMB is constituted by the Centre,” said S Thangapandian from Nallaralapalli village. He was leading the group of villagers from Uthanapalli on Dharmapuri-Hosur Road.
Though they planned to cover a distance of around 30km by walk, the police stopped them at ESI junction, nearly five km away from the state border. It was feared by the police that Kannada outfits may retaliate with counter protests.
In Coimbatore, the VOC Park Grounds, the venue of jallikattu protests remained out of bounds for public for the second consecutive day on Sunday. A large number of people, who visited the grounds to spend the leisurely evening returned disappointed as they were denied entry.

Similar road rokos were organised by the DMK in Town Hall, NSR Road, Ukkadam and in front of Mettupalayam bus stand. All the protesting DMK workers were arrested and later released.
Around 57 members of CPM, including five women, were arrested for blocking the road near Hopes signal on Avinashi Road. The members of Campus Front of India held a protest in front of Ukkadam bus stand.
