12 injured in clash near Vandavasi
Twelve persons were injured in a clash between two groups of farmers over a land dispute in Pulivay village near Vandavasi on Sunday evening.

Vandavasi North Police said a dispute over an acre of land was pending for years between two farmers, both having the same name and of same age, in Pulivay village. While one group was led by A Veerasamy (60) the other by C Veerasamy (60).
The two groups used to often quarrel over the disputed land. On Sunday evening, a similar incident occurred and soon they clashed. Members of the two groups reportedly attacked each other with deadly weapons resulting in injuries to 12 persons, including two women.
The injured were admitted to the Vandavasi government hospital. Five of them were later shifted to Chengalpattu government hospital.
