The college was judged on many parameters, including, ‘teaching learning and resources’, ‘research and professional practices’, ‘graduation outcomes’, ‘outreach and inclusivity’ and ‘perception’, hospital sources said.
NIRF, which was started in 2015, included various medical and architecture colleges in its list this year.
Of the 25 medical institutions which figured in this year’s medical colleges list, seven were from Tamil Nadu. CMC has been ranked third, after New Delhi’s AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) and Chandigarh’s PGIMER (Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research). The awards were handed out by Union HRD minister Prakash Javadekar on April 3 and was received by CMC vice principal (under graduate) Dr Solomon Satish.
