Onus on AIADMK for BJP’s fast: Kadambur Raju

The BJP had announced the fast on Thursday and the real reason behind the party observing the hunger protest was the AIADMK because the ruling state party’s MPs had stalled Parliament during all the sessions. This proves that only the AIADMK is still fighting for the Cauvery issue, while other parties including DMK were enacting a drama, he said. 

He said that national parties won’t provide a solution to the Cauvery issue and the AIADMK is the only party fighting for it. Even the DMK, when it was part of the Congress government, did not fight for setting up the Cauvery Management Board (CMB), he said. 

Addressing the media, Raju stated that earlier he had said Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami will take a favourable stand on the Sterlite issue and as stated, the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB) refused to renew the consent for operation of Sterlite Copper. So, it is the right time for the anti-Sterlite protesters to withdraw their agitation.
