Commonwealth medallists’ incentives enhanced
Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Monday wrote to the medallists, from the state and won in the Commonwealth games while announcing existing cash prizes besides enhancing it for some.

For Sathiyan, who won silver and bronze medal in Table Tennis Mixed doubles event and Men’s doubles and Sarath Kamal, who won silver medal in Table Tennis Men’s doubles and bronze Medal in Table Tennis Men’s Singles event the CM said , “You will now be receiving 50 lakh high cash incentive from the Government of Tamil Nadu, apart from the Rs 50 lakh already announced by me.”
As for Dipika Karthik, who won silver in both squash doubles and mixed doubles, the Chief Minister said she would receive Rs 60 lakh high cash incentive from the state government.
For Saurav Ghosal, who won silver in squash mixed doubles, the CM said the player would receive a cash incentive of Rs 30 lakh as per the practice instituted by the late chief minister J Jayalalithaa.
Joshana Chinappa, who won silver in women’s doubles in squash, got a letter of appreciation from the Chief Minister who announced a cash incentive of Rs 30 lakh to her as per the norm.
