Students read for world record

Around 1.75 lakh students of government and government-aided schools in Tiruvannamalai will undertake an attempt to set a world record by reading aloud from a Tamil magazine simultaneously for 20 minutes at 470 venues on Thursday.

The exercise is scheduled to take place between 9.30 am and 9.50 am and there will be 5000 teachers and volunteers to supervise the students. Arranged by Collector KS Kandasamy, it will be the district’s first attempt to go global and top officials from the police, revenue, judicial and education departments are expected to participate.
