Massive agitation against Vijaya Baskar held in Pudukkottai

The cadre, who gathered at the Thilagar Thidal raised slogans against the Minister and asked him to resign as he has been claimed to be involved in the scam. Speaking on the occasion, Tirumayam MLA Ragupathy said, “Gutkha is bad for the people’s health but the Health Minister has been tainted with the gutkha scam. Since there is the involvement of the Health Minister, inquiry by the state government will never pave way for proper investigation and so the court has ordered CBI investigation. So, taking responsibility for the developments, the Health Minister should voluntarily resign.”  

Subsequently, the protesters staged a rally from Thilagar Thidal to Palaniappa corner, but the police prevented them to go on a rally further. As they attempted to move forward, they were arrested.
