Trains cancelled due to Arakkonam yard work
Passenger trains would be cancelled on May 8 and 9 due to the upgradation of the signalling and yard systems at Arakkonam Station, while express trains be cancelled partially, said a release from Southern Railway.

Arakkonam-Jolarpettai express will be partially cancelled between Arakkonam and Katpadi, Jolarpettai-Arakkonam express will be partially cancelled between Katpadi and Arakkonam, Chennai Central-Tirupati express will be partially cancelled between Chennai Central and Tiruttani and Tirupati-Chennai Central express will be partially cancelled between Tiruttani and Chennai Central on May 8 and 9.
Arakkonam-Bengaluru passenger train will be partially cancelled between Arakkonam and Katpadi on May 8, 9 and 10. Bengaluru-Arakkonam passenger train will be partially cancelled between Katpadi and Arakkonam.
Mumbai CSTM-Nagercoil express, scheduled to leave Mumbai on May 8 will be diverted via Tiruttani, Katpadi, Vellore, Tiruvannamalai and Villupuram on May 9, whereas Tirupati-Puducherry-Tirupati passenger trains will be diverted to run via Katpadi, Tiruvannamalai and Villupuram on May 8 and 9.
Jolarpettai-Chennai Central Yelagiri express scheduled to leave Jolarpettai would be fully cancelled on May 8 and the train Chennai Central-Jolarpettai Yelagiri express would be cancelled on May 8 and 9. Garudathiri express operated on both directions between Chennai Central and Tirupati will be cancelled on May 8 and 9.
Several passenger trains operating between Chennai Central and Arakkonam, Arakkonam and Chengalpet, Arakkonam and Katpadi, Arakkonam and Vellore, and Arakkonam and Cudappah would also be cancelled on May 8 and 9. Many other changes have also been made in operation of EMU locals on Arakkonam-MMC and MMC-Tiruttani sections.
