The number of subjects has been increased to 19 — Tamil, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, History, Geography, Computer Science, Home Science, Economics, Commerce, Political Science, Sociology, Phycology, Logic, Indian Culture and Philosophy.

The candidates should at least score 50 percent either in the bachelor’s degree or master’s degree to be eligible for the admission. Also, a three-year diploma in engineering will be treated as the equivalent of Class 12.

Candidates with UG or PG certificate from an open university without finishing Class 12 will not eligible for the admission. Students who have done their UG without Tamil language will be considered for the admission only if they qualify in a language test conducted by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC).

Each college will have 5 percent reserved seats for differently-abled students. “Additionally, five seats are exclusively allotted for visually-challenged candidates,” a statement read.
