Vaidyanathan (65) of Tennur owned ancestral property of about 2.25 acres valued at Rs 5 crore in current market prices on the Karur bypass road. When Vaidyanathan went out of town due to his employment, Pichaimuthu (58), a Village Office Assistant at Vellimutham, had reportedly made fake documents and usurped the land.
When Vaidyanathan returned, he wanted to use the land, but when he visited the spot, Pichaimuthu and his sons Mohanraj (33) and Udayamurthy (28) allegedly informed him that the land belonged to them and chased him away.
A shocked Vaidyanathan approached the City Crime Branch and lodged a complaint recently. Based on his complaint, a case was filed. Subsequently, the police arrested Pichaimuthu and Mohanraj while Udayamurthy escaped.
