Jayalalithaa had pacemaker even before hospitalisation: Doctor
Former chief minister J Jayalalithaa was in a semi-conscious state while being taken from Poes Garden to Apollo Hospitals on September 22, 2016, stated the testimony from Dr Snehashri, a doctor from Apollo.

Dr Snehashri was deposing before the Justice A Arumughasamy inquiry commission probing the death of the former chief minister, on Tuesday
Dr Snehashri is also said to have told the inquiry commission that Jayalalithaa had already been fitted with a pacemaker for her heart prior to her hospitalisation. In addition to him, Gnanasekhar, a former employee of Poes Garden, also appeared before the commission during the day. The commission had sent summons to five individuals to appear on July 10. This includes Dr Sivakumar, Dr Jayshree Gopal, Dr Shantaram, IAS officer Ramalingam and IOB branch manager Mahalakshmi.
The commission is expected to submit its final report on October 24 this year. The oneman enquiry Commission’s term was to end on June 24. Justice Arumughasamy wrote to the state government seeking a six-month extension but the state has granted only an additional four months to complete the probe.
