The Madras HC has ordered notice to Deputy Director General (Education), Division of Agricultural Engineering, ICAR, on a plea seeking to conduct re-examination of the entrance examination held by Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR) on June 22 and 23 as it was bogged by technical snags.
Justice S Vaidyanathan, before whom the plea came up on Wednesday, ordered notice and adjourned the matter to July 11 for further hearing. The petitioner Murugavel, submitted that his daughter M Priyadarshini, who aspired to get admission into B Sc (Agriculture) appeared for the entrance exam on June 23.
But on reaching the examination hall at Thiruthangal Nadar College, Selavayal, she realised that the examination has been rescheduled to 12 noon as all the computers meant for the entrance examination, faced technical problems.
But when the examination commenced, the questions were not visible on the computer. This led to the examiners changing her computer at least a dozen times resulting in her losing nearly one and half hour.
Hence, she was unable to complete the examination within the stipulated time, the plea said and pointed out that 32 other candidates also faced a similar problem in the centre.
