As many as 40 NCC students including 10 girls participated in this expedition from Puducherry to Thopputhurai after touching Cuddalore and Nagapattinam districts of Tamil Nadu. They will be back to Puducherry on July 21.

Bedi in an informal chat with news persons said that those who claim that she do not have any powers should first read the Supreme Court judgment in Arvind Kejriwal-LG tussle case.

She was apparently making a reference to Chief Minister V Narayanasamy who announced in the legislative assembly that as per the apex court judgment, Lt Governor do not have any special powers and powers wrested with the elected government. Meanwhile, when news persons brought the remark of Bedi to the notice of Narayanasamy, who visited the press gallery in the Assembly, said, “He had read the judgment copy in full and aired his view only after that.”

According to a release from Raj Nivas, Bedi, addressing the cadets said that the expedition would not only  develop the qualities of character, courage, comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular but also the ideals of selfless service  to make them responsible citizens of this great country.

The need of the hour today is to channelise the youth energy which is a potent force into a catalytic energy towards nation building. The Lt Governor went to the harbour on an e-bike.
