Speaking at the airport here, he said his party would contest at least 25 seats and leave the remaining ones to its allies and asserted that the AMMK would decide the next government at the Centre. Dhinakaran also said the Chennai-Salem Expressway would not be completed since it could be stopped by the next government at any stage. Commenting on reports of corruption in the supply of eggs and other items to the noon-meal centres and Integrated Child Development Scheme centres, he said more information would emerge after the fall of the AIADMK government.
He further said, “Since Fisheries Minister D Jayakumar had strongly denied corruption charges, it could be assumed that there is corruption as the Minister is known for such false claims.” He also said more truth would surface in the idol theft investigation since DIG Pon Manickavel is an efficient official and the courts had given him independence to probe the cases.
The government would come down after the verdict of the third judge of the Madras High Court on Speaker P Dhanapal’s order disqualifying 18 MLAs supporting him, Dhinakaran said. He also said simultaneous elections to Parliament and assemblies would not be possible since the tenure of state governments needs to be over. In Karnataka, the Assembly elections were held recently and how the Assembly could be dissolved immediately, he asked.
The AMMK leader said there is no need for NEET in the state and the minimum demand is that it should be held based on state syllabus.
