DMK behind memes on BJP leaders: Tamilisai

BJP State president Tamilisai Soundararajan on Wednesday charged the DMK with supporting the memes on social media against BJP leaders.

Commenting on the hashtag #GobackAmitShah that was trending nationally on Twitter and the memes about his visit to Tamil Nadu, Tamilisai angrily asked, “Can we ask a leader visiting the state to go back? Is this the hospitality given to a leader visiting Tamil Nadu? We have held a conference with 15,000 Sakthikendriks. Leaders of all the parties should be respected and the BJP would not resort to such treatment of leaders.” She cited a report in a daily explaining how the DMK helped in the creation of memes against opposition leaders.

Tamilisai also strongly condemned the comments of DMK MP Kanimozhi on BJP leaders stating that her’s is a national party with respected leaders.

Hitting back at Kanimozhi, she said, “None of the BJP leaders had gone to prison for corruption. What is there to make fun about it?”.

She also accused TNCC president S Thirunavukkarasar of diverting the speech of BJP national president on corruption in Tamil Nadu and said Amit Shah only meant that there was no clean government in Tamil Nadu for the last 50 years.

The BJP leader said her party respected all the languages and allowed students in Tamil Nadu to write NEET examination in Tamil. However, the officials conducting the examination had made some errors, she said reacting to the errors in the question paper. Students should not be affected due to the mistakes of officials and appropriate action should be taken.

Tamilisai further said she had asked the Union Health ministry to take steps without affecting the students. The ministry said the court order had not reached them but assured that suitable action would be taken, she said. The BJP leader also said her party had already its election work. She said she started the election tour on February 16.
