Using the funds collected by the ABCDEF trust run by the 1980-batch alumni, the solar power system with a capacity of 10kw was procured. It has been installed on the terrace of the institute’s administration building.

The modern grid connected by solar photovoltaic panels and the inverter system with online monitoring was commissioned and dedicated to the institute on Friday by Mini Shaji Thomas, Institute Director.

Raja Manohar (1980 batch alumni), who is presently the Executive Director of Bharat Heavy Electronics Limited, Tiruchy and few of his batchmates were also present during the occasion.

The ABCDEF trust envisages to implement more such green initiatives for the institute in future.
