Dhinakaran trying to topple government with DMK help, says EPS

Lashing out at Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam deputy general secretary TTV Dhinakaran, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Sunday said he has been trying to usurp the AIADMK government. “We have an unshakeable place in the minds of the people and nobody can touch it,” he added.

Flagging off a bicycle rally at Amma Thidal in Madurai on Sunday, the Chief Minister also said that Dhinakaran has joined hands with the DMK, which he termed as an ‘evil force,’ to topple the government being ruled by the AIADMK.

Highlighting the eminent roles of both former chief ministers MG Ramachandran and J Jayalalithaa, he said neither people nor party would forgive Dhinakaran, who is trying to ruin the AIADMK. “It was only because of the late Jayalalithaa’s efforts that Tamil Nadu managed to get its share of Cauvery water from Karnataka.

It was certainly a historic achievement,” he said.

Recalling his 42-year old affiliation with the AIADMK and hard work, the Chief Minister said without pains Dhinakaran was thinking to take over the reign.

“Ultimately, truth will triumph, honesty and hard work prevail,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister criticised the electronic media referring to the broadcast of Dhinakaran’s statements and often interviewing him as if he was a great politician to deliver goods for the people and renowned leader in the society. “It is unfortunate that Dhinakaran had been unnecessarily televised for everything.” Earlier, the Chief Minister along with the Ministers participated at various programmes organised in memory of former chief Minsiter K Kamaraj on his birth anniversary, which is observed as ‘Educational Development Day’ in Madurai and Virudhunagar, sources said.
