Youth dies on his birthday in mishap
In a fatal mishap, a youth died on his birthday while returning from a fun trip on a two-wheeler along with his friends in Tirupur district on Sunday.

According to the police, S Tamil Selvan (23) and his friend K Prabhu (24), both working in a poultry unit near Ammapalayam in Palladam as load men had gone on a trip along with other friends to PAP Canal on Saturday.
Police said that around eight friends had gone in four two wheeler’s to the canal to celebrate the birthday of Tamil Selvan. “The friends had a joyful bath at PAP canal near Vavipalayam. Then, while they were returning back home on their two-wheeler, the mishap happened,” police said.
While Tamil Selvan was riding the bike, his friend was riding pillion. On reaching Puliampalayam pirivu, their bike rammed head on into a load auto coming from the opposite direction.
In the impact of the mishap, both of them were thrown off their vehicle and suffered serious injuries. The duo was rushed by public to Palladam Government Hospital in a critical condition.
Unfortunately, Tamil Selvan was declared brought dead, while Prabhu was administered first aid and was shifted to Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) for further treatment. However, he also died without responding to treatment on Sunday.
The Palladam police have registered a case and are on the lookout for the load auto driver. Eyewitnesses said that the two youths were also speeding in their vehicle resulting in the mishap. Police are also probing to know if the group of friends were drunk while on their return journey.
