According to sources the Rajini Makkal Mandram team also wants their social media campaign to start soon and are planning a state-wide marketing strategy to attract more netizens, ahead of the party launch. With friend and political contemporary Kamal Haasan’s Makkal Needhi Maiam on the top of their social media game – also having released and actively coordinating their ‘Whistle’ app that sees hundreds of complaints come in every week – there is an understanding that the RMM members also want their online presence expanded.
“The campaign will be global actually, so as to tap into fans of Rajinikanth sir who live outside Tamil Nadu or overseas. RMM believes that several NRI Tamilians who live in the US, Europe and other countries will also play a strong role in popularising Rajini’s new role as a politician when the party is launched. The best way to tap into those interests is via the likes of Facebook and Twitter, with a clear-cut strategy. In fact, there are high chances that Rajinikanth might travel to the US once more on a short trip before the party launch,” said the source.
