Scolded over phone use, girl ends life
A Class 10 girl student allegedly committed suicide in Manjampoondi village in Tiruvannamalai district after she was scolded by her parents for excessively using the cell phone.

Police said Thilagavathi (15) was studying in a local government higher secondary school. She went missing since Saturday night. Her body was found in a farm well near her house on Monday. On investigation, the Thandarampattu police said the girl resorted to the extreme step after her parents scolded her for talking continuously on her cell phone.
Further investigations are under way.
Meanwhile, in another incident, Kishore Kumar (17), a Class 12 student, tried to kill himself in his house in Sipcot area of Ranipet in Vellore district on Saturday night.
Police said Kumar suffered from frequent bouts of severe abdominal pain, which could have forced him to contemplate suicide. His parents who saw the incident rushed him to a private hospital, from where he was shifted to the Walajahpet Government Headquarters Hospital. However, he died on Sunday night without responding to treatment.
The Sipcot police have registered a case and are investigating the death.
