Governor Purohit to donate salary for Kerala relief fund
Governor Banwarilal Purohit on Tuesday donated his one-month salary towards distress relief for the people of Kerala, in the wake of unprecedented floods that the stretches experienced.

The Governor has been greatly anguished by the hardship faced by the people and has expressed his solidarity with them through this gesture, a Raj Bhavan release said.
DMK lawmakers’ gesture
Meanwhile, the DMK also announced that its Rajya Sabha MPs and MLAs would donate their one-month salary towards the Kerala flood relief fund.
In a statement here, DMK working president MK Stalin said Kerala has suffered extensive damages due to the unprecedented rains and floods, which has so far claimed 357 lives.
He said already the DMK has announced Rs 1 crore relief to Kerala and party cadre had been providing relief to the victims. In continuance of this, the DMK Rajya Sabha MPs and MLAs would donate their one month’s salary towards the Kerala flood relief fund, he said.
