Speaking to media persons at the Thoothukudi airport, he said such irregularities must be probed and the guilty punished. He is scheduled to participate in a meeting organised by the DMK in Tirunelveli to mourn the death of its leader M Karunanidhi.

Meanwhile, Dravidar Kazhagam president K Veeramani said Karunanidhi continues to be alive in the form of the Dravidian ideology, which is present in the hearts of people.

The late Chief Minister, during his 80 years of public life, was revered for his efforts towards social equality.

Responding to a query, Veeramani said Karunanidhi had already identified the next president to take over the reins of the party after his lifetime. Talks about any outsider becoming party president were needless. Neither the party nor the cadre are concerned about it, he said.
