Party post only to silence Vijaya Baskar, alleges DMK

Talking to reporters at Coimbatore airport before starting to Villupuram to attend the Mupperum Vizha, Duraimurugan said, “They have done it fearing that he might expose others.” He was responding to a query on Vijaya Baskar being made the AIADMK organising secretary just when the Gutkha scam was hogging the limelight.

Asked about the contradictory statements of the AIADMK Ministers on power shortage issue, the DMK treasurer advised the AIADMK Ministers to discuss the affairs of the state before going public.

“One Minister says there would be no power outage in the state. Another writes (to the Centre) regarding coal shortage. First, the Ministers should get into a huddle and discuss the state’s affairs and then go public. DMK has been demanding the sacking of Vijaya Baskar for his alleged involvement in the Gutkha scam and reported submission of his father before the I-T Department that he had collected money on his son’s behalf for giving govt jobs.
