Ganja seized from Madurai college hostel

They got the lead after apprehending two youngsters, who were spotted riding a motorcycle in a suspicious manner under Sellur police limits. After intercepting the vehicle, the police found ganja in a bag.

The duo was identified as Jackson Samuel (20) and Akash (20), both residents of Ellisnagar in Madurai. Investigations revealed that they were final year students of colleges located in Goripalayam and Madurai outpost area. 

On being interrogated, they reportedly confessed to have bought the drug from one Prem, a student of a private college in Goripalayam, who is now absconding, and another man Surya of Vadugapatti in Theni district. The police team then raided Prem’s hostel room inside the private college and seized 32 packets of ganja. Sellur police have filed a case in connection with the incident. They have arrested both Samuel and Akash, besides seizing their motorcycle and a cell phone. Police sources said that four more persons were picked up for interrogation.
