According to DMK Principal Secretary TR Baalu, Stalin felt discomfort and was taken to the hospital. Since the DMK chief was continuously involved in party work, he had no time to appear for medical checkups in the last two months.
The hospital issued a medical bulletin today stating that a minor surgery was performed to remove a cyst from his thigh and that he would be discharged in the afternoon.
MK Stalin, 65, was elected DMK president last month, weeks after his father M Karunanidhi died.
