Based on the confession from Ramshisah Varma (26) from Bihar, who was arrested recently for making fake Aadhaar cards, police zeroed in on two more persons. They had issued the fake Aadhaar cards to illegal immigrants, in Tirupur district.

Police inquiries revealed that Ravi Shankar Singh, 28, from Bihar and staying in Tirupur was separately involved in making fake Aadhaar cards. Along with him, police also arrested Sabarimuthu (54), from Avinashi for helping the accused persons to find accommodation.

Police said that the fake Aadhaar racket has been much bigger than they expected.

“Ravi was into making fake Aadhaarcards. We have seized printers, digital camera and scanners from his possession. The cards appeared real and was passed on easily by the illegal immigrants as proof,” said a cop.  Both the men from Bihar had gone into hiding soon after eight Bangladeshi nationals were arrested for illegal stay in Tirupur without valid documents.

Following their seizure, officials from Unique Identification Authority of India visited Tirupur and inspected the fake Aadhaar cards.
