TN schools to create awareness on safe Deepavali

The Directorate of School Education has issued orders to the school authorities on allocating five minutes during prayer time in the morning for instructing students. The circular also stated that safety aspects can be discussed during assembly hours and teachers can test students’ knowledge on how they celebrate the festival of lights.  

The schools were also asked to hold a drawing competition on fire safety. In addition, the school management should also make sure that students know the court’s order on bursting crackers for a specific period of time, the circular said. The headmasters may approach fire service personal, who could demonstrate safety measures. 

The Directorate of Collegiate Education has also issued circular to colleges on creating awareness.
