46 passengers injured as govt bus falls into gorge
Over 46 passengers were injured after a government bus fell into a gorge on the hill road near Gudalur in The Nilgiris on Sunday.

The Gudalur-bound bus from Pandalur was carrying around 85 passengers when the incident occurred around 11 am, said police. “Near Nadukani, driver Jeganathan lost control of the vehicle while trying make a quick turn to avoid hitting a two-wheeler, and fell into an over 10-foot gorge,” police said.
On information, police and fire service staff rushed to the spot and carried out rescue operations. The injured were rushed to Gudalur government hospital. Later, nine of the injured persons were shifted to Ooty government hospital while others were sent to private hospitals, and some to Kerala, police said.
DMK MLA Dravidamani visited the injured at Gudalur hospital. A case has been registered in this connection.
