Kamal wants fans to devote time on charitable activities

In a letter to his fans, the actor-turned-politician states that through the activities of their ‘narpani iyakkam,’ they have paved the way towards instilling a sense of social consciousness among fellow citizens. He adds that all eyes are fixed on them to see what the next course of action for Makkal Needhi Maiam would be. Merging politics and welfare activities is a novel concept that needs to be introduced to both Tamil Nadu and India at large, he said, adding that he wishes the citizens of the state step into a future that is devoid of corruption, excelling in education, praiseworthy in agriculture, respecting women and ripe for development.

He requested his party members and cadre to spend their time and effort in developing programmes for their respective areas, rather than come meet him in person.

The 63-year-old also listed a few activities he wishes for the people to do on his birthday, such as continue spreading awareness on the concept of organ donation drive, and implement it on a larger scale, take efforts to conduct a general medical and blood donation camp between 7 and 10 November, hold camps in areas affected by dengue and swine flu, as well as providing ‘Nilavembu’ concoctions to the public after obtaining them from government outlets.
