DMK hands over relief amount to CM
Principal opposition party DMK has sent relief material worth Rs 76 lakh to cyclone affected delta districts.

DMK president M K Stalin on Wednesday flagged off vehicles laden with relief material collected by the party women’s wing and Chennai (east) district from party headquarters Anna Arivalayam.
Earlier in the day, DMK treasurer Duraimurugan met and chief minister K Palaniswami and handed over a cheque for Rs 1 crore towards cyclone relief.
The party has also announced that its MPs and MLAs would donate a month’s salary.
Last week, Stalin had asked his party district secretaries to collect relief material from across the state and send it to the party office in Trichy to be dispatched to the storm affected people.
Meanwhile, the state Congress has collected relief material from traders from several parts of the city to be sent to the cyclone ravaged delta districts.
