Kin of slain jawan to get Rs 20 L relief

In a statement here, Palaniswami said the army jawan, P Saravanan, hailing from Karisalpatti village near Tirumangalam in Madurai district, and attached to the 20 ENGR, Regiment, died while on security duty at Dras area in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Chief Minister expressed grief and anguish over the soldier’s death while announcing the assistance of Rs 20 lakh to his family. He also offered his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members.
