“People know very well that Modi is working for the welfare of the corporates and is making frequent foreign trips for their business development,” said Thirumavalavan, in response to a query on Rajinikanth’s statement on Modi, in Chennai.
Rajinikanth, in a recent interview for an English weekly magazine, said that Modi is trying to do good for people of the country. The statement evoked strong criticism in the political circles and on social media where the actor was trolled.
Thirumavalavan said that none of the problems faced by the people have been addressed in the BJP rule. “Poverty has not gone down, corruption was not addressed, black money was not brought back and communal forces are having a free run in the society,” he said.
When asked about the criticism of the BJP leaders that the protest organised by the DMK on December 4 is to bring a truce between the VCK and the MDMK, Thirumavalavan replied, “Already the VCK and the MDMK are in good terms and certain forces are trying to separate us before the elections.”
